Skincare Tips and Products

As a typical eczema warrior, my have a huge collection of lotions, soaps, shampoos and other products that I have tried over the years. Here, I want to share the list of changes that I made to my lifestyle. These are the products that worked for me and I continue to use these successfully. I also want to highlight here that I regularly switch around and make adjustments, based on what my skin tolerates. For example, in winters I'd use a thick caster oil based skin cream which I would never use in summers.


Skincare Products- Choose gentle, fragrance-free cleansers, moisturizers, and sunscreens specifically formulated for sensitive skin. Avoid products with harsh ingredients like alcohol, fragrances, and certain preservatives.

Amazon.com: Cetaphil Face Wash, Hydrating Gentle Skin Cleanser - you can use this wherever needed, and for the rest just use water.



Laundry Detergents- Wash clothes and bedding with hypoallergenic, fragrance-free laundry detergents. Residual detergent on fabrics can irritate the skin. Any free and clear kind is good.



Clothing- Wear soft, breathable fabrics like cotton and avoid rough, synthetic materials. Wash new clothes before wearing them to remove any residual chemicals or dyes. In fact if you have not worn something for a while, wash it once before putting them on.



Household Cleaners- Use mild, non-irritating household cleaners free from strong chemicals and fragrances. Consider wearing gloves when cleaning to protect your hands.

Cosmetics- Choose makeup and personal care products labeled as hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic. Avoid products containing known irritants or allergens. Honestly I have not found anything yet that has worked for my face.



Fragrances- Avoid perfumes, colognes, and scented products, which can trigger eczema flare-ups. Choose unscented alternatives whenever possible.



Pets and Pet Products- Some individuals with eczema may be sensitive to pet dander or saliva. Limit exposure to pets and wash pet bedding regularly.



Blankets, mattresses, pillows and carpet- I know dust mites are an issue for me so I am very particular about vacuuming. For the mattresses and pillows I use-
